| Peace and Tranquility in a rural setting - a few local cows, cicadas, buzzards and ravens could be all you hear on a normal summer day. Surrounded by oak woodland in the middle of nowhere. We get a much larger selection of birds in spring including nuthatches, tits , goldcrests, woodpeckers (green and greater), jays, swallows, cookoos, redstarts, black caps, robins, sparrows, kites, wrens, hoopoos and many others. Lots of insects including 5 different sorts of wasps (and hornets), loads of different butterflies, crickets, grasshoppers, praying mantises, hover flys, giant black carpenter bees, a few mosquitos. Wild flowers, red squirrels, roe deer, wild boar (allegedly), woodland, magnificent views and walks over limestone cliffs. |
